Tips To Quit Smoking


Smoking and its ailments are nothing new to us. The addiction of smoking is perhaps the worst ever habit that man has adopted in all these years along with development. The figures are staggering but the fact lies more than 25 percent of the population around the world has the addiction to smoke on a regular basis. Moreover, over 40 percent of the emerging generation has already started lighting cigarettes which is really a matter of concern. With a definite death result, all the smokers are continuously working towards their abolishment even though they are aware of the final destination.

You would definitely be wondering as to why people get attracted and addicted to smoke, despite of the outcome. In vague terms, the reason is that cigarettes contain some amount of tobacco that supplies nicotine to the blood. Eventually our body gets addicted to the drug in the perception that it becomes more active and benefits a lot from it. Once we start smoking, we slowly start consuming the tobacco to quench the thirst and demands of the body. Keeping in mind the deaths occurring all over the world annually, it is high time that we start working on quitting cigarettes. For your help, here are some tips:

a) The first and most important point is to gain the right determination and will power to oppose your bodily requirements. Unless you learn to rule and overpower the wants of your body, it is hard for you to quit.

b) Take it as a challenge and believe in yourself to achieve it. Unless there is a visible goal to reach, the path seems in vain.

c) Try and realize the moments when you have the highest urge to smoke. Make a list and try to analyze how you can control your body and mind. Now bring the reasons that have compelled to think and try on quitting the habit. If you can really make out the significance and severity of the action, you are half the way done. This will give you the driving force that can guide you through out the journey.

d) Learn about the consequences and portrait them in your mind. It is inevitable that you would want to avoid them at any cost. The sight of dreadful and disastrous future can bring in some more determination to quit smoking.

e) Sit and talk to your doctors, friends and close ones. Take their advice and try to act on them. Simply thinking in mind is not going to help you. There should be some strong personality who can monitor you and can keep you awake on your mission.

f) Adapt to a quitting program and stick to schedule. The moments that drive you crazy are the first peaks that you have to conquer. Start with reducing the number of cigarettes checking on the brand of your smoke. Start smoking as light as possible and reducing on the number on regular basis.

g) Find a companion who is on the same track and share your experience with him. He can give you the much needed motivation and push to tackle your boundaries.

h) Drink a lot of water and make a habit of gossiping or strolling around whenever you feel like smoking. Keep some plans to reward yourself on each day that you keep yourself devoid of smoke.

However, all these points are just tips, but it is you who has to take the charge and prove it to the world. Remember that you are burning your life with your own hands. So be careful!
